I was, and I agree with him.
I grew a pair of balls and took martial arts. Black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do. Kicked one of their asses when they tried to bully me again.
Instead of bitching to my councilor about the boy who hit me, I grew some fucking balls and fixed the problem.

I personally don't ever get into fights, but it's just because if my mom heard i got into a fight she'd get into a fight with me, and win obviously. But i take martial arts because it does well to irritate the people who try to hit me when they can't land a blow. I normally solve my problems by either talking it out or showing that it phases me so little that they have to reason to attack me.

I never would have actually fought my bullies either for the same reason. But one day I came home with a black eye and my mom finally agreed with me and my dad to let me learn to defend myself. But if you can get away with not fighting, it's always better. I was in 5 fights before I came home with a black eye though, then the one after I got training and nobody messed with me again... So this was the best route for me.
I don't take the chances with dodging much. They go for the first and I rush in and let it hit me at a reduced strength then just land one right in their face with my elbow. Sure, I get hit, but they get a broken nose and never bully again.

You may or may not care, but my dad told me if anyone fucks with me then I should just punch them in the face and take the detention or suspension. And that's exactly plan to do.

Yeah, I think for the most part my dads side of the family solves a bit by fighting My grandma picked up one of his teachers and slammed her into a locker once, all for a good reason of course)

No that's not what I meant. People should try to defend themselves, but getting involved with the police might help too, you know? Tell me how a society could function if everybody constantly had the fear of getting murdered, or just their reputation to get destroy, which would prevent them of getting a job. You really think that would be a Utopia? Okay let's say you never were a bully, and you pretend to be a victim, than what to you do if somebody lock you in a locker? The locker is not large enough to give your foot enough momentum to kick the door open. Crying about somebody calling you an idiot is one thing, a thing I don't do, but crying about your grades going down because you miss classes because of people locking you in the locker, or because you are scared of getting beat up, is an other. One those not simply call somebody a pussy for crying about his grades. That's the only reason your in school, to learn. If you get lower grades, it's probably because you missed lessons, because of the reasons I mention before. If you don't care about your grades, than, why are you even in school?

I was bullied all the way up until middle school because I was and AM the biggest nerd ever... I took Taekwondo and kicked the bullies ass when he tried to beat me up the first semester. Nobody fucked with me anymore, I never live in fear anymore because I know that I can defend myself it the need arises. Hell, from that first semester on, nobody picked on any of the nerds because they knew I had their backs. I didn't complain about being bullied to anyone, I just went out and found a fix to the problems.

I call other people idiots and pussies because all they do is bitch and moan nonstop about their problems instead of actually doing anything to fix them. If somebody locked you in a locker, well then go ahead talk to people, tell your teacher and ask how to make it up then go take some lessons and kick ass. Call the police if you are being physical assaulted and you are incapable of defending yourself.

And just so you know, I never said it's ALWAYS the victims fault, but 99% of bullying that I've seen or experienced can be easily solved by growing a pair of balls and manning up, whether that be calling the police or suing for assault, or taking martial arts to defend yourself.

I completely agree with you. martial art can fix a good couple of problems, and calling the police (in case of violence) is an other that fix the rest. Sorry for misunderstanding what you meant.

That is true. I had about 500 people on my tail for various reasons, and I never got out of my suicidal depression until I decided to fight back. So what if you get a detention? Show them who's boss. (Not that I picked fights with 500 people, but news spreads when you win.)

I don't see why people don't simply beat the shit out of the bullies. Strength means almost nothing, but when you know where to hit them, you'll win in a blink of an eye. I was 12 and i was a scrawny fuck who could beat the shit out of anyone. Every week i was in ISS for a fight, and i was never bullied. When i was, i laughed and stood up and they shut the fuck up.
