You've gotta be kidding me. You think rock died, when it was artists like the Beatles, or Elvis that kick started the musical backlash. Rap wouldn't exist if rock wasn't made. Rock made teens of the 50's go against the strict precedents set by their parents which all in all culminated into one of the most powerful genres of all time!
