And the reason he never mentions it is because he forgot he was "The Doctor" in the first place. Also the TARDIS got banged up over the years making the time vortex leak out a little when the flux field is shown around it. and the reason that paradoxes in that world exist like they do and not in Doctor Who form is because the time vortex is also shrinking, making the time travel seem instant.
