Everytime I find something like this, it's always accompanied by a stupid anarchist logo.

Well, to be fair, it is a pretty anti government statement. Kind of goes hand in hand.

I want total reform, but I still believe a government is necessary. It's just hard to find anything like that. I remember when I tried looking for a socialist wallpaper. The only results I got were Soviet and Nazi wallpapers. Mfw.

Of course governments are necessary, but the founders had it right. A limited government that does nothing but protect basic rights. No special interest, no extra power, and no corruption. Socialism is as much a disaster as capitalism, though it has had far more success but, why, oh why, is it that poeple can't consider the possibility that perhaps we might create something entirely new? Rather using the old system we create improve it, get rid of the bullshit and make things better.

what is your thoughts on a resource based economy?
User avatar #13 to #12 - oxan (03/26/2012) [-]
Corruption is inevitable. That's why you need to balance out the power. Rather than having an executive a president or (I'm Ausfag, btw) a prime minister, the power should be shared among the cabinet members equally.

In the US, you vote for your president directly. I don't like that. I prefer the parliamentary system, in which whatever party has the most seats becomes the government.

But really, I don't understand why socialism gets all the hate. It protects the majority of the population; the workers. By making things like factories publically owned, you're not running them to make extreme profits, so you're not exploiting your workers or cutting corners.

socialism is actually quite a good thing. i'm from norway, and we have a kind of socialist government (much like the labour party i australia, bit more to the left perhaps). i am a member of the socialist youth party, and i got to say: socialism is for the 99%.

Countries like Norway are the best. They're all pretty liberal and socialist.

well thank you:) we are also feminists, but that is a no no word here on FJ
User avatar #24 to #23 - oxan (03/26/2012) [-]
Feminism is a touchy issue. To be honest, I hate it. I support equal rights completely. But that's just it... feminism is almost female superiority, really.
User avatar #25 to #24 - tiagogo (03/26/2012) [-]
well, i have to agree on that, but i think the fight to equal rights can only be achieved through mass-activism.
User avatar #26 to #25 - oxan (03/26/2012) [-]
But it has been achieved. In fact, woman have more rights than men in some respects.
User avatar #27 to #26 - tiagogo (03/27/2012) [-]
except when it comes to income. at least here in norway, woman makes an avarage salary of only 85% of what men do. and I think that the only issue that we need to fix when it comes to equal rights
User avatar #28 to #27 - oxan (03/27/2012) [-]
Often, women earn less because their workload is less than that of a male counterpart. Not because they're given less work, but because they choose to do less work.
User avatar #29 to #28 - tiagogo (03/27/2012) [-]
well that is not the case here in norway. we hae proven statistics that indicates that men actually overall have lower work morale than women. and we men in norway have equal rights as women when it comes to paternity leave and stuff like that
User avatar #30 to #29 - oxan (03/27/2012) [-]
Aye, that's good. In that NationStates thing I was telling you about, there's total equality. Even to the point where woman are required to be conscripted as well (but it's only like two months training).
