MFW people say "The society in the book is barbaric because they enjoy watching teens fight and kill each other"
Meanwhile "Hunger games" is like the most popular book since Harry Potter

Here's the thing: some of the readers actually get that its an indictment of our current society that in the name of sport and fun things like the Hunger Games is permissible. This is calling out football, hockey, boxing and etc but to a much bigger extent war. There are also hints of capitalism bashing, where gaining "sponsor's" and people to help you out makes it ok to destroy the weaker people, ie the poor who were "going to die anyway" because of starvation.

But most of the readers just read it for the battle scenes...

And still some are going to look too far into it and say retarded **** like it's "calling out football, hockey, boxing" when it's not related to any of that. I enjoy the books for all they are, not just the battle scenes, but goddamn, I get so pissed when people act like every book has to have some sort of deeper meaning beyond entertainment. It has nothing to do with war, violent sports, or ******* capitalism. I assume that pic you posted is referring to yourself?
