I didnt think they followed the book as well as they could have. and the stuff that they did do, they did it poorly. katniss on fire was pathetic. she didnt starve for water. Rue didnt die the way she did in the book, the hovercraft didnt come for her. katniss got the mockingjay pin from madge in the book. peeta was supposed to lose his leg, he didnt in the movie. he was also supposed to be drugged by katniss so she could go get the medicine at the feast. AND thresh was supposed to kill the district one girl to avenge rue by throwing a rock at her head and denting her skull. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN EPIC. the movie was ok. i give it a 3/5 considering the quality of the book in comparison. but as a stand alone movie. 4/5

and buttercup is black in the movie

Also the mutts who attacked them at the cornucopia were suppose to resemble the dead tributes...I thought that could have translated greatly to a movie...

He was. When they were walking you hear the mutts, Thresh screams, then the cannon goes off.

and peta's leg was supposed to be really hurt at the end. and they were supposed to drug him when katniss went for medicine.

and katniss wasn't supposed to tell rue that she would be okay after getting speared through her chest. in the book katniss actually made a point of not telling her she would be okay, because rue was smart enough to understand that she wouldn't be.

She also didn't go deaf when the explosion hit (or at least they didn't make a point for Katniss to show that one ear wasn't functioning). I actually noticed a lot of small details that didn't follow the book, but I doubt people want to hear all about how the movie didn't follow the book to the letter.

It was a great movie, though i have to say, I LOVED the part when she is saved by the guy in 11. The one overlying part i have to say about it is, they NEVER FUCKING MENTIONED THE FOOD PRIZE!!!!!!!

Yeah but I would have liked to see that scene the way it happened in the book, in which gigga nigga 9000 grabs a giant rock and bashes cloves skull in. It was fucking hilarious.

Given the distance the movie showed Peeta throwing the large weight, I'm surprised they didn't just have Thresh throw the cornucopia...
