It was actually a pretty **** movie... I much prefer 1984 for my fill of post-revolution/oppressive government type movies...

I'm not going to deny that I read the hunger games because the movie was coming out
but I also read it partly because whenever I saw posts on here featuring reading, the book was ALWAYS The Hunger Games with a ******** of comments saying how good it is.
Don't start hating it because a) it's been made into a film and b) other people are now reading it.
Not only does that make you a hipster, but it also makes you massively hypocritical.

TL;DR: YOU LOVE THE BOOK SO DON'T START BITCHING ABOUT IT WHEN OTHER PEOPLE START LIKING IT TOO.

I kind of regret reading the book first, because I was more critical of the movie.

It is the first installment in a teen series of books. They were mediocre at best. That's why I didn't bother to see the movie. But everyone else did apparently.

watch battle royale - it's got teenagers killing each other and is more entertaining

Battle Royale is much, much better - but of course because it's Japanese and over 20 years old, people would thumb you down for saying that

I read that book three years ago when my aunt sent it to me, she also sent me Eragon before anyone even new about it. Conclusio, Im pretty sure my aunt knows more about pop culture than pop culture knows about itself.
