Not trying to come off disrespectful. Just getting tired of seeing a notification and then it's the same thing... :) The whole rythym section of the band doesn't get accounted for I hate it. I play bass and drums.

I'm an average guitarist and I have been in several small bands, but I have to admit, Bass is very important. It's one of those instruments that you don't really notice when playing, but the moment it stops, there is an awkward silence, even tho the rest may be playing on.

Yeah I'm not like that at all, I hate guitarists that are like that, they're so arrogant and I hate playing with them. I mean I don't mind if they suddenly decide to do something new in a middle of a song but as long as they know that the rest of the band is actually there as well and that we are not there for their amusement.

i hate it when people say something like "bass is important for timing" or "bass is a rythm instrument" (no offense). what the hell people, that's what the drums are for. basses are guitars too, you can play them however the fuck you want.
i write music myself and i often write more complex and technical stuff for the bass than for the guitars because the bass is more important to me.
people who play the bass just for rythm and timing are simple minded, in my opinion.

I loved playing bass, but was never really good at timing, so I switched it up. I'd love to go back sometime and give it a better shot (may have been cause I only played for a couple months). But I agree, the bass is an important part of the band, gives the sound that backing chunky sound that just makes so many tunes rip.

And also, is that an ESP LTD AX-414? Lovely little AXe there.

Almost :P It's the ESP LTD AX-104. It's a little cheaper, but it's identical in body shape, and sounds virtually the same :)

Most people assume it's a BC Rich, so I think it's pretty cool that you picked up on that :)

Shoot, the 2 Pickups threw me off. The 104's I have seen usually only have 1 pickup, but I've been wrong before.
And when you spend all your time looking through guitar sites for shits and giggles, you pickup on a few shapes, even though the AX does seem very akin to something BC rich would pump out.

It's not saying "bass is unimportant". If you actually read it and comprehend it, it's implying that he, like all of us, have heard too many shitty bassists glorify themselves about how they play bass. That's the entire point of that meme is making fun of the stereotypical shit people say/do in a certain situation.

I like Asking Alexandria.... But they're probably one of the softest bands I listen to other than A7X... Just because people listen to a certain band doesn't mean they don't listen to heavier things. I just went to a concert with Job For a Cowboy, the Faceless, Impending Doom, and a few more. I want to go see Whitechapel and a lot more bands also.

I don't hate them but if they are your favorites then you aren't as metal as you claim.

I love Avenged Sevenfold since 2000, so I'm fine with that. I don't care about genre and if you do you're not truly metal. I hate stereotypes about music. If it sounds cool, I listen to it. Simple. I love screaming because it's difficult to do and is normally angry like my personality. I love moshing, and concerts, and the whole shit like that. I love Whitechapel, JFAC, The Faceless, In Flames, Born of Osiris, and a lot of other heavier bands, but I also love Avenged Sevenfold, and A Day To Remember, and shit like that. I don't just listen to a song that has screaming and say, "OH I LOVE IT CAUSE IT'S SCREAMING!" I listen to the lyrics and the breakdowns and the tone of screams and shit. I don't care if I'm considered "metal" or not, but I'm definitely not a scene kid or a poser or shit. Thank you for your time.
