He's anti-life, that's basically it. What he wants to do (repeal healthcare laws, allow insurance companies to refuse certain kinds of medical care based on personal moral beliefs, etc) will make it harder for everyone to live.

When he says, 'government cannot force you to pay for something that violates your beliefs,' what he means is 'government cannot provide something that violates MY beliefs.'

I see, you're on the church v insurance thing. The church provides the insurance, the insurance provides the drug at no extra cost. This provides a necessary service to women working for the church, without putting any of it on the church's shoulder, that's really the best-case scenario.

Now, if you meant taxes going into things like that, here's a brief rnudown of what happens: you give the government your money, regardless of your religion, and the government provides services. It's necessary for the government to provide for all of its citizens, regardless of religion. 'Your' tax dollars aren't going toward any one thing, they're being collected into a pool which is then divided up in the way our representatives think we want. (Supposedly)

As to 'not having sex,' 'birth control' is a misnomer. These are hormonal supplements that can be prescribed to treat many, many problems a woman might have. A side-effect is the birth control aspect, and some people use it for that.

As for everything else, I see your logic, and that is very good logic. But about the Obama care, doesn't that create a monopoly over everything health insurance? I mean, he says that he wants to create jobs when health insurance companies would go out of business.(and as always, whoever is reading this, please don't hurt me)

Stop saying don't hurt me, no one's hurt you yet!

A government has a duty to provide for its citizens, like I said. One of the things it has to provide is healthcare, which could be done any number of ways.

I haven't read up much on the subject, but the way I understand it, Obama's health care plan would have left insurance companies as they were, but provided a public option -- the option to have your care paid for by a similar pool to the one I was talking about. You put money into the pool, and so do the other people who opted for the public option, and when you need it, you take money out. The requirement for insurance by 2014 was to ensure enough money in the pool to cover costs. I don't know the specifics, so I'm sorry I can't be of more help there.

The only problem is that in Kenya they have government health care and their tax rate is 88%, then again, they do have some other government run things too.

And I only ask to not be hurt because there are haters out there that would completely rape me with thumbs if I am not careful, so I figure that reminding them that I mean this in the least assholish of ways.

Kenya probably sucks, (I've never lived there and don't really know) but higher taxes aren't always bad, when the government keeps up its end of the bargain.

It's definitely worth worrying about the government controlling -too- much. Caution is never a bad thing. But that's what the constitution is supposed to be for: it's supposed to limit the power of government, while still allowing the government to provide for its citizens. And although most people will tell you otherwise, the constitution is by and large adhered to, in letter if not in spirit.

Now, It and most of its amendments are very old and should be updated, but that's another discussion altogether.

I'm going to try to respond to a lot of your comments all at once, sorry if I forget one!

No rights existed before someone decided to create the first right. People have always created rights, that's one of the ways we limit the government.

Something we should remember is that we not only have to be protected from our government, and from other governments, but from ourselves too. Private companies should have rights, but they must be limited in favour of individual rights where we (the people) deem necessary -- discrimination laws, for example.

When we put in place laws to ensure that a private company won't discriminate against potential employees based on skin color, we should also put in place laws to ensure that a private company designed to provide medical care won't refuse to provide for someone on the basis that they need medical care.

actually, many big insurance companies are forced to use a flat plan for everyone, and this does not fluctuate for different people. If you look at all countries that have been taken over by Communism, this one of the first steps. A woman from east germany spoke about it last week saying that people posed as progressives shifted into power and forced this kind of healthcare onto their people. She said that people with special problems couldn't get the help they needed, and that the poor had absolutely nothing, but the men in power had everything. Also, you said that it is a government's duty to provide healthcare. Why, then, do we have insurance firms and etc.? The people should be able to choose if they want healthcare, and if they don't think they can afford it, save up for it instead of having a ****** plan that never gets better.

If the people can't afford healthcare, give it to them for free. Even if it is the 'first step to communism,' we as a people simply cannot allow situations where a family is driven into the street by a child's treatable illness.

Even if you're forced to have access to healthcare, you're not forced to use it, if you really are against it for some reason. (at least, you shouldn't be forced to use it)

With Obamacare, you don't have a choice. Even if you have enough money to pay for medical care or if your work covers it, you still have to "donate" (more taxes) to the system. So you pretty much have to pay for everyone's medical expenses, which is ********.

I'm assuming you're not rich, so you probably only put in a couple dozen bucks per paycheck. I don't see where you came up with the idea that even one cent is going into the programs that don't directly benefit you. The government spends trillions of dollars on all sorts of programs, and infrastructure, and wars, and so forth, it's more likely than not that your taxes are going into one of the myriad of programs that you want.

My family is like upper middle class (dad owns a construction company), so we do have money. I am a college student. They take money out of every check for medicare. Which goes into to the "pool" of money that anyone who can't afford it gets to use. There should be no welfare; replace it with a program that finds people jobs. The country will be much better off that way.

Both sides are just as bad. There's nothing wrong with being religious if you keep it to yourself and don't be annoying (and that goes for atheists because they can be just as obnoxious), but when you try to change politics and laws based on religion, then that's silly. But also when you have this dumbass Obama who is ******* up our economy because the only thing he is good for is giving speaches.

You want to know why? Because my country is made up of RETARDS! I can't believe it either, but it proves some things. Firstly, people are crazy. Second, the US is way to religious for itself. I live in New England, the most European part of America. I can say that people are literally blind to reason, truth, justice, and knowledge, particularly in the South, where he's been winning all these elections. We actually refer to that part of the country as the "Third-world states", by the way. Just take this example: Mississippi banned the teaching of non-integer numbers in its schools because they wanted to make math easier. Fat, lazy, and stupid, that sums up the South. If only we'd just let them seceed when we had the chance.

Texas isn't as bad as some. Texas' main problem is heavy religiosity and poor resource management, particularly in the way of water. The culture itself is not corrupt though, like that of the Deep South.

Depends on how you look at it. We hold the 2nd best economy out of all the states, and passing California. Texas is not like the deep south.

Yes, you are not at all like the Deep South, I agree there. About the economy, what you have cited is sheer size, so indeed your economy is the second biggest, since you are the second biggest state. By per capita production and wealth, the Northeast is the best in the nation, possibly the best in the world.

Not all of the Southern states are bad. I live in (arguably i suppose) the worst area of Virginia. It's not that bad, there's about half of the population being rednecks, but with modern technology, the other half can keep more in touch with what's happening on the outside. In places like Alabama and Mississippi, it's just so rural that it starts getting bad.

We're making progress.

What about Nebraska? We are inteligent, aren't we? I mean I love God but is the bad language that you are using to put down somebodies culture with really necessary? Also (I am sorry FJ) but I was for him. This is my opinion and nobody asked for it and it is useless but I am just trying to defend my faith to my God and stating that we aren't all buttholes who think that you deserve to rot in jail for not being like us. Also this is how the EPA 'spends' it's tax dollars:

You really, REALLY should. Romney actually has a strong chance of winning. Even if you don't want Ron Paul in office, there's still going to be a president elect no matter what. I would much rather have Obama or Paul in office than some Bible-thumping asswipe, ignorant Mormon, or fatass flip-flop.

I don't know where people get that allusion about his support because of legalization. Away from his economical stance, Ron Paul is the definite best candidate. If we stop spending so much goddamn money on foreign wars, we wouldn't have to worry about the economy as much.

People who make those pictures are under 18's who can't even vote. Ron Paul wants to end capital gains and dividends taxes. The biggest thing for me, though, is his decision to get rid of the income tax. What do you not agree with?

The income tax part haha. He plans to get rid of that all together and then get rid of, what are in his opinion, "useless agencies". What I don't like is that I don't know what he considers to be "useless". It was a mixture of opinion on what was useless that got NASA canned.

Wow. I didn't want to get into a debate. That's not all he's cutting. The income tax is the largest source of tax revenue- I think it's very ballsy for him to cut that. And no, I'm most definitely not the first person to disagree with that.

I understand that income tax generates a lot of revenue, but income tax rates are WAY too high. The way that 0% income tax rate works is because of other points in Ron Paul's plan. Ending the Federal Reserve, cutting down a ******* in foreign wars, and eliminating the departments . Didn't mean to start a debate either, sorry.
