Just keep the xbox.

It's not worth building a new system which will be outdated in one or two years when you already have a great system with loads of games and it will last for years.
#24 to #22 - tariv ONLINE (03/19/2012) [-]
No. I can easily update the hardware in a PC. When a new X-Box comes out, then what? I can't get the individual updated parts to install, even if I new how. A PC has more games, plus mods and I don't have to pay for online gaming.

You can keep playing your old games for your Xbox and the smaller new ones which will still be released on it.
Eventually you will be able to afford the new Xbox which won't cost much more than a new Graphics Card or Processor which is what generally needs updating.

Also modding is for pussies. Just play the game properly.
Those fun mods like the MLP dragons mod on Skyrim are okay, but you can just get them on the Xbox anyway.

A gaming PC strong enough to play games like an Xbox does will easily cost you about $1000.
Trust me I've done it before.
User avatar #30 to #28 - tariv ONLINE (03/19/2012) [-]
Building it myself. Not so much. I know where to look.
As for mods; they help to make a game you've lost interest in fun again, so it doesn't go to waste.
User avatar #31 to #30 - frolacosta (03/19/2012) [-]

isn't it a bunch of dudes throwing dice taking turns on a game board?
#99 to #81 - kraetyz (03/19/2012) [-]
Eh, not really. The game board is more abstract than what's actually on the table, as your mind serves as the major playground (at least in theory, actual practice may vary).

Traditional (real) roleplaying games work a lot with the concept of a storyteller working together with other people (the players) to create a cohesive story with the other people acting as the main characters. :) It's hella fun. The last few years I've gotten I think half a dozen more people to try roleplaying with me, and they all enjoy it so far :D
User avatar #101 to #99 - herecomesjohnny (03/19/2012) [-]
sounds like a fun game with booze. People should play it with shots you drink every HP you lose..
#125 to #101 - kraetyz (03/19/2012) [-]
You could totally make a drinking game out of D&D.
"For every time a Wizard casts Magic Missile, he has to take a shot."
"For every 10 HP you lose from one attack, take a shot"
"Unconcious? Drink continuously until someone revives you, or you pass out IRL. You can stop then."
"Is the game master rolling dice and not telling you results? Beat him up, because you're drunk and pissed as **** ."

User avatar #131 to #125 - herecomesjohnny (03/19/2012) [-]
the game would take such a cool toll towards the end: "I wanna hug Jeff, cause he's my beeest frieeend!"
"So you aren't fighting anymore?"
" **** no, let's do some shots!"
"Peaceful resolution. You have won the game, congratulations"
#145 to #131 - kraetyz (03/19/2012) [-]
"And then they all died from a hungry dragon. That was also drunk. And puuuurrtttyyyyy."

fixed it, just added in some dead script and it replaced the button. although i had to change the spacing of the one below.
#150 to #149 - fukluvmakesammichs (03/21/2012) [-]
no i literally went into the png and changed the names, to the links i wanted. as you can see there are now only 11 buttons showing. at all. whereas there are 12 links. i can find nothing in the script to explain this. the change in the png should not have this impact, at all.

although the bottom button has disappeared. the actual button to go is the rainmeter one. :L
this is really annoying me :(

i play 3.5, but alot of homebrew. my Drow Cleric can talk to celestial, demonic, infernal, and all underdark creatures, has amazing charisma, and because of the bonuses from both class and race, i can cast Level 0 and 1 spells with no chance of failure, and level 2 and 3 spells, with 99% chance of success

Nice! i've been playing for about a year and a half now, my first campaign was 2.0, but now i play 3.5, possibly getting a pathfinder campaign here pretty soon. Right now im playing a human L6 hexblade and a human L1 cleric, worshiping boccas.

your hexblade will have a tough time starting out, but he will become a badass by level 8. your cleric is already a useful member of any party, and will always be needed.

I use a drow because of the bonuses, as well as the level adjustment.
User avatar #106 to #102 - zdawg (03/19/2012) [-]
its gonna be fun, because i plan on presteging to spellsword, and i forgot he is actually L7, but i will go spellsword at level 10. As for the cleric, he is actually a lot of fun, boccas, the god of grapes, and by extension, wine, celebrates getting drunk, as such i have a proficiency with kegs and bottles as weapons, so to make my character fun, his profession is brewer, and once i hit third level im going to take potion brewing, and be able to put my spells into potions, and as a twist each of the potions are going to be booze based
User avatar #110 to #106 - falgabird (03/19/2012) [-]
heheheh.... clerics also have an affinity against poison, so i had my cleric down a keg of mead and is as we speak drunk off of his ******* ass.
User avatar #111 to #110 - zdawg (03/19/2012) [-]
yeah, it was fun, the first day of the campaign i drunk an ork under the table. Needless to say we are now drinking buddies. also my character invented the first hand grenade. there was a book burning in the middle of town, i knew there was a big fire, so i picked up a keg for later, and once we got into the battle i threw the thing into the fire, ****** exploded, shrapnel everywhere, badly wounded most and killed the rest of the goblins
User avatar #113 to #111 - falgabird (03/19/2012) [-]

User avatar #114 to #113 - zdawg (03/19/2012) [-]

lol, 4th level, burning hands, gonna be great. but i really want to use the keg and bottle thing, i mean how useful would a moltov cocktail be? or just throw the keg on the ground, splash all the enemies, then throw a torch on the mead

User avatar #130 to #128 - zdawg (03/19/2012) [-]
of course, and i do my duty, but its kinda hard to be an effective white mage when all you can do is 2 first level spells and 3 cantrips. ironically i've done more damage than pretty much anyone else, and we are traveling with a socalist monk, a thick headed palidin, and a tribal ork ranger.
User avatar #132 to #130 - falgabird (03/19/2012) [-]
it is a bit tough, but you are best when the battle is over, however, you can also help buff the others by using things such as divine blessing to give them extra attack, damage, and save roll bonuses.
