I always get pissed off when in the movies they're choking somebody, and just a few seconds after they stop struggling, they're magically dead. If I was killing somebody, I'd choke them out, then break their neck when they're unconcious and unable to struggle. Silly Hollywood.
Not really. Either way, in the movies they struggle for a few seconds, then just two seconds after they stop struggling they're magically dead. And if you're being choked out, you can always prevent them from blocking blood flow and last much longer before passing out. You're talking to a guy who took 1-2 minutes at least to start blacking out from wrestling.
I don't want to sound like an asshole or know-it-all but when you're choking, you're blocking the corotid arteries on the neck which essencially cuts off all blood to the brain. It only takes a couple of seconds to knock someone out if the choke is applied properly.
Yes, but they all act like they're killed shortly after losing consciousness. Not to mention, I've been in those situations, where somebody was trying to choke me out, and I almost fell unconscious, but even that took about a minute due to struggling.
It takes about thirty seconds normally, even then they don't die yet. That's what I was making fun of. Main thing is to make sure you can hold your breath and exhale as rarely as possible.

In most movies they simply let go after a few seconds and walk off, pretending they're dead. If somebody doesn't know that in real life, then they'll simply think you're dead. If they know it's bullshit, they'll break your neck, which is exactly what I've been saying this entire time.
