Acta and sopa didnt start at all because people are posting copy righted material on a comedy sight, are you fucking retarded? First of all SOPA is censorship and ACTA is about piracy and goes much more deeper, you're so fucking ignorant and retarded

Yes SOPA is about censorship, in fact its about censorship of copyrighted material being posted on the internet (like this post) , which would allow the states to basically shut down a site if any copyrighted material was posted on it. This is why sites like youtube was terrified of it, as it would effectively shut them down overnight
ACTA (anti-COUNTERFEITING-trade-act) went much broader and deeper, just like you said. The problem with ACTA is that a counterfeit is defined as something that is an illegally made copy of something else. Copying a scene from a TV-show falls under that category.
