I'm a manager at McDonalds and I can personally say that when you are getting your ass handed to you by the customers, we're not going to care about you getting better at the time. We need to get the people their food. There is plenty of time to practice later when it's slow.

I'm a manager at my store, i always say to people we need to get the customers served in good time, if i see someone struggling to keep up, i run out the office and run the food for them, so all they have to do is take orders, i don't yell at my staff for being slow, i help them, unless there not working and just standing about while others struggle, then i give them hell

I work at Wendys and am not a manager but I agree with you on that. The managers I work with tend to put people where they are the worst during some of our rushes. I admit I'm not the best sandwich maker there but when you throw the new girl there during a friday dinner rush you're kind of retarded.
