Well the troops are not infantry, they are only there to help train and supply the Ugandan soldiers to better aid their military in finding Kony and and LRA members (which has dropped from around 10,000 to 250 in the past 6-7 years).

They are going to have a lot of trouble finding Kony in the thick African jungle, also considering he fled in 2005.

Let's say that genocide is occurring in Europe, leading to war, and America tries to stay out of the fighting, all the while sending supplies to Europe. Suddenly America gets bombed and its people are very devastated. So America decides to take part in this war. what im saying is that under sadam foreign companies could not drill for oil and sadam chose where the oil went. after he was overthrown american companies were allowed to drill for oil.

As corrupted as Sadam might have been, isn't that how it was supposed to be? I mean the oil belongs to the people of Iraq in the first place therefore they get to choose who to sell the oil to. If the people of Iraq chose not to sell (even if it was Sadam's choice and not the people), what gave the Americans the right to make the Iraqis sell their oil to them.

i enjoy the debates actually, but it has to end here, i have to go pick up my mother. the point im making is that the war was started over sadams actions and the evidence of weapons of mass D coupled with the recent sept.11th we just happened to recieve access to the oil as a side benefit. and it was to a point forced, a free market economy was set up allowing them access. the iraqis could always just pass a law forbidding it and there would be nothing we could do.

I am glad that you enjoy debating too. If you checked the article I gave you in my previous post, it says that Bush issued the order to invade Iraq before 9/11 even occurred (6 months before). I just wanted to point that out. Thanks for your time.

^ the above simply states that the condition of iraq(mostly because of their fights with iran) was posing a threat to the ability to flow (or ship/move) oil from the middle east and that it is an unacceptable risk to the us economy. and a military resolution is necessary. also, the iraq war wasnt started until 2003. planning may have started prior to that, but thats the way most wars are. generals plan for invasions of hostile countries years in advance as a just in case...

Military intervention because Iraq wouldn't give them the oil they need. Therefore, to prevent anything bad from happening to their economy, they invade Iraq. I personally do not think very highly of this choice. For that reason, I am speaking in third person because I do not want to be associated with them and their choices. On a side note, I believe that 9/11 was staged, if you want my proof I can give it to you. The world is more corrupt than we would like to think.

Honestly, I think oil is a poor excuse for invading Iraq. Almost anyone will agree that invading Iraq was a bad choice. I do not support wars at all, regardless of their motive but at the same time I realize that they have to happen because that is how people are, not everyone is wants peace. Now, if the American government is sending troops to Uganda because of oil, I believe that is a bad choice. However if they are truly going there to help save the children of Uganda, I believe that is a noble cause that should be acknowledged. All we can do now is wait, if the Americans start receiving oil from Uganda, know that it was planned all along.

I'm not talking about invading and unnecessary killing.

well, i am to a certain extent. im 215LB (though im 6'1") i gained weight once i stopped all the manual labor...

215 isn't really that bad when you think about it. Especially considering I'm 140 and I look like a twig. I actually wish I could gain a little bit of weight. It never happens though, I eat more than anyone I know and I either lose a couple pounds or stay the same weight. Like wtf.

I'm surprised that you're basing this assumption soley sickipedia. It's a website to post sick jokes, so it's supposed to be offensive. Also since it's a joke, many are not offended, I have friends who are sometimes the target of these jokes, and they're fine about it. Also, every nation has it's 'bad eggs'.

Well I used this as a basis of my assumption because on a website where people are allowed to be as cruel as they want many would be more apt to write things that on a site which is more of a family friendly atmosphere than sickipedia. I must admit that the use of one website may be short sighted but it is the only one that I visit at least semi-frequently with reference to their own nation.

Consider the following; After the Iraq war, many of the American Oil companies moved in on the drilling operation, in place of a Iraq state controlled one it that company then sells the refined oil products (Plastics petrol etc) onto other countries, then that company turns a massive profit.
