Um actually the mayan calander did account for the leap year because the mayan calander accounted for 364 1/4 days per year. (Obviously created another whole day after 4 years, this is where the leap year evolved from).

You think Mayan calendar says "21 december 2012 in the calendar that isn't even invented yet doomsday will come"?..

Obviously they follow their calendar and their calendar alone. So they predicted back then that for example "In 291239 days doomsday will come" meaning that 291239 days after the prediction doomsday would come, doesn't matter if we had 360 days on our years instead of 365 and thus would be like year 2500 now. The predicted doomsday is still after same amount of days.
