ahhh, tom bombadil the man who can simply walk into mordor, flick the ring in the fires of mt. doom, and punch sauron in the dick , all whilst in the middle of a nice cup of tea.

lol indeed, but he has a major part in the whole story as well, like when the fellowship is gathering at Rivendell, Tom is being partly talked as the answer for the Ring problem + without his help the hobbits wasnt been able to pass the old forest, but ok, its a movie and for a movie it was incredible.

i have just finished reading the hobbit, i havent read it in awhile i still cannot wait for the movie

the hobbit is going to be fucking huge man, i cant wait already!! im still reading LOTR but sometimes im not even sure that i want to finish reading it, everytime i read it i have this huge energy of inspiration, i wish life was epic as it is in LOTR.

Nope... there is (i think) 60 years in between the hobbit and LOTR... they just take 2 of the main roles but its not a prequel. Its like saying "silmarillion" is a prequel to the hobbit... it isnt.

The Hobbit is basically the story of how Bilbo got the ring. I've read all the books, so I can tell you that with certainty.

Actually there are going to be 2 Hobbit movies but The Hobbit and LotR are 2 completely different stories. I guess they will be lumped in together rightfully so after they're both done considering they contain the same characters and the same world

I'm just saying, the only place I've heard of Hobbits is in LOTR. If there are 2 Hobbit stories coming out, and they're included in the LOTR continuity, that would effectively transform LOTR from a Trilogy to a quintilogy, correct?

That is all I am asking, a possibility.

Tolkien wrote The Hobbit before The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Hobbit and LotR are 2 different stories but they contain a lot of the same characters and take place in Middle Earth. So while they aren't technically the same series they are close enough to lump them together
