There's a theory that Mars used to be like Earth, and that it's plausible we came from Mars. As in, Mars' core stopped turning, the magnetic field deteriorated. Thus, no protection from solar winds.

so we came from mars... a few couple million years ago even tho we had no means of space travel to actually survive getting here...

No, we were an advanced civilization, but you can't just take everything with you when you leave a planet. We would've had to start over. Like our ancestors, most of us don't remember where our family came from, so it wouldn't be passed on that we came from Mars.

but we wouldn't have been set that far back, to the point were we barely understand coherent speach and draw with cave painting? and wer is the crashed ship then?

We would have been on a new and different planet, yea we would use cave paintings. Also, they found cave paintings that resemble technology we have today. We would have taken it apart for supplies, and the parts would have been buried over time and eventually decomposed. Mars shows evidence it used to be like Earth.

i get the mars being old earth, but then how does darwin's evolution theory and monkeys play in, if at all? its a good idea, but if we were that advanced, i do believe we would still have some of our technology.

Well this is just a theory as well. But it would have happened, just on Mars. And why would we bring it, we wouldn't be able to use it once we got here anyway.

how so? are you saying that technology wouldnt work on the moon? they would have had enough time to modify it to earths atmosphere. plus, if they had the means to make it to earth, 1) who's to say they hadn't already started to colonize earth like we are planning on doing with mars and 2) they could have gone and flew to other planets and colonized them (thus aliens) AND 3) wouldn't we be able to see signs of huge technologically advanced cities and empires on the surface... (even tho the planet is being pelted with solar flares, that wouldnt grind entire cities to undesernable dust...)

for the moon part, i meant for example, OUR technology working on the moon

Where would you get power for any of it? and It would grind cities into dust. Our magnetic field should be flipping in the near future and the fact that its weakened is going to effect us. Also, it's been thousands of years and solar winds are strong.
User avatar #290 to #289 - camerel ONLINE (02/28/2012) [-]
that is true... but there would at least be SOME evidence, how ever small, of such cities, whether its the type of materials we would have used for housing and shelter some sort of outline, etc. and what do you mean by power?
User avatar #294 to #290 - purplecrayons (03/02/2012) [-]
Yea, but we aren't putting forth that much effort into looking for evidence at mars. And by power I mean how would we run any technology we have here on a different planet? Everything requires some sort of power source and on a new planet we wouldn't have any set up.
User avatar #295 to #294 - camerel ONLINE (03/02/2012) [-]
solar panels... we have them in space, they power our satellites, who's to say they didn't come up with something like that, if anything, its extremely practical that they did.
User avatar #296 to #295 - purplecrayons (03/02/2012) [-]
Okay, what do they have to power their space ship? Solar panels or not, it's a plausible theory. It's not proven and I haven't studied it so, discussion closed.

well alright then, thanks for playing

yeah we must've been like. **** it we're flying to earth.

Yea, like this.
