It had to appeal to the kids. Nintendo needed a "reboot" so to speak, since a lot of the original fans had left games altogether.

Well, Wind Waker still had it's charm. What it lost in grittyness it made up for just by being cute and silly. Skyward was serious all the time, save for moments when you were in Skyloft.

I liked skyward swords combat, and sprinting was a good make up for the lack of epona.
But i would have been more impressed if they kept Twilight Princess' graphics.

The combat was refreshing, but buggering every time he swung in the opposite direction I did. And then I would get shocked.

Sprinting was nice. Maybe some stamina upgrades, but a good road to start nonetheless.

They could have done more to make potions more worth the money.
Id rather carry 3 health potions then 2 health potions and a stamina potion.

Oh don't even get me started on the inventory system. Since when has a Zelda EVER limited the numbers items you could get? (Excluding, of course, the games where you could only carry one item at a time. I.E. Four Swords) I wanted all the bottles, not just two so I could fit the heart medallions.

I did enjoy the upgrade system though, despite getting some of the ingredients to be a chore.

The inventory system was bullshit.
the only gripe i had about the upgrading system, was that it was pretty much useless to upgrade some items, and i would have liked to upgrade my slingshot to actually do damage. what use is a shotgun slingshot that only stuns?

actually, upgrading the butterfly net was nice. it let me catch birds, bugs, and tumbleweeds easier.

But really, all I ever upgraded were the Beetle, Bow, Two Quivers, and a bomb bag. Everything else felt a little useless.

Not even the sacred shield?(even though it was virtually useless after you got the hylian..)
upgrading your shield is pretty much essential if you want to beat hero mode.

Never got a shield hahaha. I do that with every Zelda game, if possible.

My brother, 29 and a huge Zelda fan (and a little herderp), was watching me play. He had already beaten it with the help of a Strategy guide, and told me to get a shield. I said no, and he started flipping shit and yelled at me to get it because "it's impossible to beat the game without it". Ever since then I was like "Challenge accepted" and vowed to finish it without ever buying a shield. You should have seen his face when I told him I did it. He just said I was lying, hahaha.

Lose double health... heart flowers dont appear, and hearts dont drop from grass or enemies(until you get the heart medal.)
The upside is that you get full powered skyward strike at the start of the game, and once you get the true master sword, it charges instantly.

Shit, how are you supposed to get hearts then? Sitting and sleeping?

and potions.
But once you get the heart medal, hearts do appear from grass, and half the heart flowers appear.
you wouldnt believe how hard it was getting the hylian shield(you have to fight 8 bosses in a row without using the item pouch. meaning no potions, fairies, medals or anything.)

Which, Hero Mode was an alright idea, but did it add anything other than difficulty? Wind Waker, for instance, made you wear a blue shirt instead of the green tunic the second time through.

Skyward sword and twilight princess are switched i think.
skyward sword needs to have link as a right handed, which is why his sheath's belt is inverted.

The far right Link's sheath is right handed.

Also, the far right just has armbands instead of full gauntlets. The Inner left link has Leather arm armor, with the exact same design.

Well, to be fair about the Navi part, the assistant from Skyward Sword (Blue chick sword floaty thing) was several times more annoying.

But at least Fi actually helped. navi just gave you a vague clue about what you were supposed to do next.

And you know what made me really hate that game? The goddamn water part where you have to get the music note tadpoles. I. HATE. Swimming controls.

why is there ALWAYS an underwater level?
at least we could swim slightly faster, even if it was at the cost of oxygen.
