I agree...they should just have fun with what they make and focus less on realism
GTA: San Andreas was fun because it wasn't that realistic...you could do some crazy shit (along with the diverse map with mountains, deserts, hillbilly towns, ni­ggers ghettos, etc.)
It was a long game too and was like nothing done before. But then...
GTA: 4 was quite enjoyable but could of been better if they had not been so focused on making it a simulation. I heard they didn't put planes in the game because of 9/11...bullshit like this.
Because of the realistic approach multiplayer fared to be pretty bad

GTA: 5, which will be based in San Andreas will hopefully be more old-school. I fear however, that it will not life up the glory of GTA: SA and will forever ruin the image of San Andreas with realism and other new-age shit. This is why I wanted Rockstar to make something original rather than go back to a past map...It was the originality of San Andreas that made it great and I'm afraid GTA: 5 won't do it right. Just my opinion...

Yeah i have Sr3 and i really think its awesome, but i know its supposed to be crazy, I just kind of wish Rockstar would go back to its roots. They are both good gaming companies though.

Yes that would be nice but couldn't you simulate all of the crazy shit you wish you could do in GTA4 in GTA3 to San Andreas? Is all you want is a fresh coat of paint? True the whole realism thing clashes with the whackyness of the the past games, but at least the story is good enough to at least give the impression that the sandbox genre of games isn't just for psychotics. Just play the old games or the saints row series, don't bitch over realistic evolution.

Ok first im not bitching. i like rockstar games especially the ones mentioned i still however think they need to add the stuff that made GTA SA awesome like planes flamethrowers miniguns and all that stuff, and the cool cheats. I think they could still; have an awesome story and good fun wacky things to do.

Loved that game growing up, played it again recently for nostalgia. Twas amazing, but way easier than I remembered.

Probably because you remember half of everything in the back of your mind.

I think it's just cause I'm smarter now. I was little when I used to play it, and the puzzles seemed harder. Plus, I never beat it back then, that's the main reason I wanted to play it again. I felt incomplete.

Plus the cartoon animation is fucking awesome to watch and play with.

i don't know much about bioware, i have tried playing the me2 and da2 demos and i found the games boring so i never buy them

mass effect is awesome, dragon age, not so much, usually the plot is pretty good
