It is actually like printing fake money. You don't replace the original money but still is a loss to the government and population in general.

I hate to be that guy, but it is stealing because they are losing money because you downloaded it for free instead of buying it.

But then again, that doesn't stop anyone from doing it.

It is also true that you probably would have never bought the album in the first place, or even discovered the artist, who you could later go on to spend hundreds at concerts and in merchandise that you have never known that you wanted with out pirating a 12 dollar album.

tl;dr- its still stealing but then you buy merch and concert tickets if they are good enough so it balances it out.

actually, it is theft, the legal definition of theft is the dishonest appropriation of another's property... which also includes removing their rights to do with it, it is their right to let who they want to see it, see it, and if they wish for only people who pay to see it to be able to see it, by someone making a copy and watching or letting other people watch it without paying, you are removing their rights to let who they want to see it, therefore appropriating their property, therefore committing theft... so piracy is theft, but also piracy as well ;)

this is just wrong, not to sound Morally above people
but to make analogy for Piracy would be

imagine you made a car that wanted to sell
but when you got to the market you found out everyone
already have your car, because they made it from the designs they copied from you

Well if someone steals you car and it still is there in the morning, ofc it wont hurt you, but it would hurt the people who make the cars.
Same thing goes for video games, it wont hurt the guy who copies it, but the developer.
