There are 2 Problems here;
1: TheOH PEEis a blatant toenail clippingwhore, and everyone who toenail clippinged him up is mentally deficient when you take into account the prevalence of whine threads directed towards retoasters, and toenail clipping-whoring Lamar Smithgots.
2: The apparent lack of sensibility displayed by those who honestly believe that signing an online petition could accomplish anything. Let me spell something out to all you bleeding heart liberal asshats. You. Accomplish. Nothing.
Nothing.
Not only is the petition going to be entirely disregarded by anyone who even remotely matters, but the fact that you're increasing power demands to create and run that petition are exactly the demands the all so evil corporations capitalize on.
Do you want to know what you can do?
Turn your power off, even if for an hour every day. Turn your shitty apple products off. Maybe exercise instead of going on your computer. Perhaps (Heaven forbid) sacrifice some of your luxuries.
Now how many of you are going to do that?
None of you.
At the end of the day you all fail to understand that everything you have is sustained by the blood of the majority. Everything you possess deludes you from the ugly truth of the world.
You're all fucking sheep. You soak in your own ego boosting drivel. So long as someone somewhere is telling you that you're making a positive difference, you're content to blindly wallow in your ignorance whilst making a conscious effort at avoiding critical thought.

If there's one thing the internet has taught me, it's to never take stuff like this at face value.
If you took this post at face value, you'd think that a bunch of greedy corporations are destroying these people's homes for the sake of money--just like every environmentalist Disney movie ever made. But what if the electricity is needed to power a hospital that's going to help fight disease in the area? Or a water treatment facility? Or a business development that is going to provide jobs and money for the local area? Or simply to boost the power grid of a nearby city which has frequent power outages, leaving thousands of people in the dark?
And then there's the basic question of what's behind that photograph. What context was it taken in? Also, are they REALLY going to be out of a home, or will they simply have to move a little bit--if at all? How much of an effect is that dam REALLY going to have on their lives?
Don't get me wrong, I do feel sympathetic for these people. But people on the internet--whether they're environmentalists, politicians, corporations, etc.--are notorious for skewing the facts to fit their agenda. So don't expect me to pledge my allegiance to a cause simply because some group told me to. And neither should you.

This is fucking disgusting. The people responsible for this, and the heads of the companies who will benefit from it should be murdered.

These people have had their way of life for thousands of years, who are we to tell them to stop? They aren't hurting anyone with their culture but we are destroying them by practicing our own. Yes there are advantages to modernism but are these people really at a significant disadvantage in the grand scheme of things? I think not. If the world ends tomorrow who will survive? The people who had technology and lost it and have no clue how to survive without it? Or the people who never had it and will continue just fine?
