strange that guy has the same name as me and likes the same things i do
WRONG! DUCK TAPE as it was known by the soldiers, was used to patch holes in ammo cans to keep water/mud out of the weapons chamber when fired, to repair jeeps boats and even aircraft during combat in WWII.. thoguh now it is known more often as duct tape though it is seldom used for duct work
Wrong again, it was first marketed to the military as it was developed from gaffers tape, THOUGH!!! it is known as duct tape for the reason it was Great for duct repair when many soldiers came back from the war and found or created work elsewhere
as i said when it was marketed "commercially". Military contracts are not considered commercial sales. They changed the name to suit their biggest buyers. I apologize for my input, i only said anything because i thought your parting comment meant you didnt understand why the name had changed, not just that it is no longer used much in that capacity.
