I don't care if it's a retoast, i won't let anyone speak ill of the people who make my life possible.

There are countries with either no military forces or very minimal compared to ours that get along fine, but that's not the point. I don't insult our troops.

But I will not let some idiot child speak ill of people who make MY life possible, like my mother who was unexpectedly fired from a job because he "boss" who had just been hired decided she didn't like her. She worked for there for 15 years supporting her children as a single mother and now is having problems finding a job because of her age and the economy.

And just because you're part of the military doesn't mean you are automatically a good and/or smart person. I said nothing of our troops, just a kid who thinks he knows something he hasn't experienced.

Emphasis on: not all military personnel is good. There have been plenty of criminals who served prior to committing rape, murder, and other terrible crimes. I'm not saying he's bad like that, but I AM saying he's an ignorant child.

i'd say he's experianced a great deal, regardless of weather you agree with what he says, soldiers deserve our respect for the things they do for us every day, you can disagree with him if you like, but i can't stand to hear anyone insult them.

I'm not insulting soldiers. I'm insulting someone who's generalizing and insulting the workforce of America.

Besides, you have no idea what he's done. He could have just joined the armed forces and is a cocky kid. Maybe he holds a position which isn't on the field of battle. Maybe he isn't even part of the armed forces but happens to have access to a uniform.

You make so many assumptions about this one person and think "oh, he's wearing an army uniform. He deserves to have me worship HIM, personally, without any facts or details of who HE actually is"

Now who's making assumptions? Aside from writing a few things down on a piece of paper, what did this guy ever do to you? i don't see him insulting the workforce, i see him making a point about those who are too lazy to get a job, the occupy wall street group and such.
It seems to me, that YOU are the one is assuming things without any facts or details.
And there's a fine line between worship and respect, but i won't dignify such a low blow with any further argument.

You've now assumed everyone who's part of the Occupy Wall Street movement is "too lazy to get a job". Sure, some are, but not even close to all.
