captaincabinet (02/14/2012) [-] There was this guy talking on the radio the other day, and he said something really interesting: all religions have these beautiful buildings built for them (eg. the vatican, the taj mahal, st. paul's cathedral, etc.) yet Atheists don't. He was saying that's the thing he misses about being religious; there's more of a sense of community. I mean yeah. you have Atheist groups here and there, but nothing official. It's kinda lonely being Atheist or Agnostic :(

well im buddhist agnostic as of a few months ago, and yet i have plenty of friends, sure my christian friends go to huge camps organised my their church, but my athiest friend is my IT guy, d&d DM, metalhead, has an IQ of 170, and can drink more than THOR

That's because for thousands of years you were killed if you said you didn't believe in a god. Kind of hard to make so many beautiful buildings over time if you are dead. Only in the past few hundred years has atheism become acceptable. Religious people have had pretty much forever to build works of art based on faith.
Then again, why does it even make sense to make works of art based on the lack of faith? Dafaq?
