I rage every time I see those comments of people saying they don't know who Whitney Houston is ... it reminds me how old I am.
But seriously, I'm 22 years old ... not THAT old. How could you not know who she is?
Anybody remember that Simpsons episode where Homer becomes the Mayors bodyguard? They made several parodies/references to the movie "The Bodyguard" which Whitney Houston was in.
"And I will always ... love youuuuuuu" - come guys, you know that song!

I have never heard ANYONE talking about Whitney Houston but now everyone at my school is upset, i hate my grade...
Michael Jackson Syndrome- Die, and then have people spontaneously give a fuck about your existence, or lack there of.
It pisses me off reading statuses saying 'you were such a legend, an inspiration' made by people who more than likely never listened to one of her songs outside of a soundtrack for a movie.

One more thing. nobody is celebrating her death, that is horrible, if anything, there's two things going on.
Unrelenting mocking, like how this site and many others are doing, and real remembrance, like in the news and t.v. and shit. Celebrate life, not death, she was a fantastic artist. Don't throw that away because of how she died. Elvis died of drugs, does anybody think less of his music or legacy because of it?

Ok, I usually don't comment on stuff like this, but you're fucking ignorant.
You don't know what it's like to be dependent on a drug, we don't kill ourselves on pills or blow because it's "fun", but because there's a stimulation in the brains, there is a chemical imbalance that makes you think you NEED the drug.
Trust me, I'm a recovering alcoholic, it's not a lack of control, it's a disease. It's something that you have to fight everyday, and it's something that shouldn't be judged on.
Walk a mile in another man's shoes, please.

Well I'd understand it's hard to quit. That part is clear, and I did mention elvis farther down, however, read some of my other comments. Maybe I'll get my point across, but probably not. Just going to get a whole lot of complaining.
Ok well then why turn to drugs if you have all this talent. And hey I mean everyone like this, even people like Elvis, John Entwistle and the like. I by no means am supporting this at all. They could have entertained the masses for much longer if they didn't give into their id all the time. That's why we have a prefrontal cortex. There should be a balance between ones wild side and ones rational side. Got to let both work
She didn't turn to drugs. She was abused by her husband WHO DID DRUGS. He forced it upon her and because of that she become addicted. She tried to to stop multiple times especially for her kids thus her reason for going to rehab. cocaine is a hell of a drug to just stop.
Well then why did she marry him? Surely cocaine addiction is hard to hide. So either he was doing this before she was dating and could have caught on, or he started afterwards in which case she should have seen a huge change in his habits. Now no matter what I say here, it will sound bad, but there is always a choice. That's one thing I will know. What good is she to her kids now, may I ask. So I don't want to here it. That is not something "you do for your kids." I'm sorry to say
He started doing cocaine and abusing her after they were married and forced, YES literally forced her, to do drugs. So she divorced him. There isn't a choice to drugs when someone literally forces it down your throat. You're are going to become addicted to it. Especially with such a harsh drug like cocaine. She was also doing very well with her kids, before she died and they all have a nice life. Also it "It's not something you do for your kids" What? Are you telling me that somebody couldn't see that they were hurting their kids and go to rehab?
Well from the likes of what I'm reading, she could have gotten out of there. I mean who marries a man who supposedly loved here, but then turns to coke and shoves it down his wife's throat. Surely there must have been something wrong for him to turn to coke. Communication is wonderful in such a situation. Now their kids don't have a mom. I would be devastated if such a thing happened to my parents, so I find it hard to believe the kids are "OK." I hope my skepticism is somewhat understandable. I'm certainly not trying to make you rage. It's just my thought process.
Somthing wrong? The man was rich, he had the money for the coke so he did it. Multiple people said so and he even confirmed it himself. I also never said they were OK i said that they were living a nice life. Nobody is going to feel ok after their mom died.
