It's amazing people look up to this guy. She made a private post and complained about parents + chores, he invaded her privacy and not only shot the computer but demanded to be reimbursed for the property he shot. Which I would be fine with, but he filmed it for 14 million+ viewers so this girl can be scrutinized every which way by the entire world. No one deserves that kind of scrutiny for an angry letter that was never supposed to be read. When did emotional abuse become okay?

Seriously, if you need to test drive yourself, offer to babysit a friend's kid. If you can't handle that regardless of the age of the kid being babysat, you will make a terrible parent. Hand's down.
And I'm kinda on the girl's side in that whole shit with the laptop shooting. That dad WAY over-reacted. That is not how you raise a kid. But then, he is one of those people who is a bad parent, and should have stopped himself well before impregnating his wife...

This is the kind of parenting that puts daughters in brothels. Shooting the laptop accomplished nothing. There are other methods to handle this. I mean I would never shoot something I paid for. Hell I'd keep the laptop and make he earn money to get it back. It's not that hard really. He fought fire with fire, and all that did was made the fire bigger, that doesn't help anyone. My parents never felt the need to shoot my fucking stuff and Im a well rounded individual. also, youre teaching your kid that you use a gun for punishment is cool. Its a means for defense. you could make a video of him selling her laptop on craigslist. that would me a much better allocation of resources; much better then wasting a perfectly nice laptop. well, not perfectly nice, it was HP if I remember correctly.

It's a fact of life that we learn as we grow. Kids learn not to do certain things because they get punished for doing those certain things. It's like pain. If something is painful our body tells us so and we do not do it again because it damages and hurts us.
However kids are also influenced by other things. People (not just kids) will always be punished for things they do throughout their life. You can never be perfect.
Go ahead and tell us that YOU were never punished and that you continue to be a shining star.
