The correct phrase would actually be "my and my boyfriend's relationship", not "my boyfriend and i's" because "I" isn't possessive and thus it doesn't make sense unless she makes it possessive because "I" and "relationship" are both subjects of the sentence.

If you are going to correct someone, do it right.
