That feel when . . .

Just finished reading Mockingjay. Fucking amazing series, and I loved the end. I can never escape that empty feeling you get once you finish a series, although it did have come pretty good closure.

You see, when you do it to twilight, twifags get all offended and shit. Doing it to The Hunger Games is funny as fuck! I'm a big fan of the series and I lol'd when I read your comment!

From what i can tell this book was Mockingjay, the third book in the Hunger games trilogy. This book sucked ass, it was not good in anyway shape or form. The first one was a mazing but it just went down hill after that!

I thought it was great but opinions are opinions.

I mean everyone dies! Spoiler alert but i loved primrose

I don't judge a book on what characters die but what their deaths mean for the story. It was a story of war, and death was expected. Prim's death was needed for Katniss to realize what Coin was really doing and in the end it was a good thing. She prevented the cycle of dictatorship. At least for a while.

I guess... But i still didn't like it very much... the first book on the other hand was amazing. has the move come out yet?
User avatar #1483 to #1482 - idelki (02/16/2012) [-]
Not yet. Movie will be out March 23rd.

And yeah, I didn't like her death either. Wasn't easy to read. I honestly found the 2nd the most entertaining, but I kind of like to just take the series as a whole.

I liked the second only better because of the book was faster than the first one. But the first had to be slow so it was just great writing technique

two questions....
1. why is the book backwards?... i am amerifat and don't know much about other countries' reading pattern.
2. WHO WAS CAMERA?
#1447 - anonymous (02/13/2012) [-]
MFW Katniss and Haymitch voted yes for the new Hunger Games.

I mean, What. The. Fuck. I know you feel bad and everything but what was the point of killing Snow if you are going to become Snow 2.0?

User avatar #1457 to #1447 - Sethorein ONLINE (02/13/2012) [-]
anger and selfishness = human. It was one of few human choices made IMO Katniss is the very definition of the hateworthy protagonist. She is not good, she is simply powerful.

That's when you find another amazing series!! Apart from 'The Hunger Games' series, (Book in the post) I can personally recommend the 'Airborn' series by Kenneth Oppel, the 'Leviathan' series by Scott Westerfeld, and 'The Maze Runner' series by James Dashner. That's nine books right there! That should keep you entertained for a while :P Too lazy to tell y'all what they're about, so just Wikipedia them lol, it'll be worth it though =]

I read the first in maze runner and kinda hated it... It felt like I was reading Lost. A person doesn't know who he is or where he is and has to escape. He manages to after all of his hardship and watches his best friend die. He still doesn't know who he is or where he is, now there are just different things trying to kill him... I dunno, does the plot become any more clear?
User avatar #1454 to #1445 - ohnomynamedoesntfi (02/13/2012) [-]
Yes, it gets clearer. Although you kinda have to have a good imagination to tolerate the Sci-Fi in it, basically WICKED has god like powers and endless resources, and they have some pretty crazy trials for the Gladers, I still thought it to be a good read though, if anything keep reading it to find out how Thomas plays into the whole thing. :) Hope it helped!

User avatar #1415 to #1409 - gisteve (02/13/2012) [-]
The ending to that series was butt fucking retarded. Like come on, you just made Galbotorix feel bad? The fuck shit is that? Ugh. And FUCK. Now she's a dragon rider like you, she tells you her true name, and you STILL can't tap that??? You just run away like a pussy??? FUCK I personally thought of like ten different spots on the map he could've raised those dragons but noooo you have to be a vagina and leave. God damn it such a shitty end to such a good series..
User avatar #1459 to #1415 - hhhghhg ONLINE (02/13/2012) [-]
can i clarify, he left cause there were going to be a lot of dragons, and he didnt want the countryside to be devastated by a bunch of dragons hunting for there food, or a young dragon accidentally destroying some town or farm, although yeah talking to galbotorix until he implodes himself and half his castle and the city was kinda retarded
User avatar #1461 to #1459 - gisteve (02/13/2012) [-]
They could've moved the people out of the southwest island of Beirland and populated there, there was a large valley by Beor mountains he could've used that was far from any dwarf civilized area, there's a good grove of trees far away from elf cities in the northeastern regions... three right off the top of my head. And there was a dickload more dragons when the riders were still big and Vroengard was more then large enough. All three places are roughly around the same size.

Shhh...spoilers
User avatar #1424 to #1420 - gisteve (02/13/2012) [-]
Fuck it. The ending was so crappy I don't care. 800 pages just to be disappointed...
User avatar #1427 to #1424 - kingoshark (02/13/2012) [-]
Honestly, I believe Galbotorix was one of the best villians ever, I was almost convinced several times to his way of thinking.
User avatar #1432 to #1427 - gisteve (02/13/2012) [-]
Oh he was a fantastic villain. But he was just so damn powerful it's almost stupid that something as simple as that worked. He was almost omnipotent so he should've seen something like that coming.
User avatar #1442 to #1432 - kingoshark (02/13/2012) [-]
I was really wondering how he was gonna do it, it's always interesting to see how writers get themselves out of the coners they write themselves into. Sadly, he went with a very lame way out. Such is life. I'm equally irked by the fallout on anything regarding Arya and Eragon romantically.
User avatar #1460 to #1442 - gisteve (02/13/2012) [-]
Yea for real that was so fucking lame. I mean Paolini described his feelings for her as "the only person he could ever love because of his gift/curse of immortality" and NOTHING happens. They hug like 5th graders and they never see each other again. Fucking. Bull shit.
User avatar #1417 to #1415 - Sethorein ONLINE (02/13/2012) [-]

I think it was Deltora that actually got me into reading period. And it probably influnced my choice in RPG video games, and fantasy movies...holy hell all my entertainment preferences can be traced back to that series....damn
