She joined in 1918 when she was 17, only 2 months before the end. She was the last surviving veteran to served in WWI, even though she was only a waitress for the air force. RIP Florence, and every other soldier of the Great War.

Because once a woman hits a certain age her body stops producing as much estrogen (female hormone) which causes facial hair to grow more profoundly.

the actual last veteran of world war 1 died in 2010, he was 15 or 16 when he fought in the battle of the somme (1916)
