Just wondering something, why is glass more expensive then plastic?

It seems to me like it would be easier to aquire and make glass then plastic.

because glass is heavier, you use more of it in a single bottle, and plastic doesnt shatter. Though given the choice, i will always drink my beverages from a bottle, because the plastic and metal in the cans fucks with the taste in what i drink, tea.
