I live in the UK and it's fucking huge, honestly, girls in my school were crying in class the other day because they all love the one with the curly had broken up with his girlfriend and they were all so sad for him. They also all wore One Direction shirts to school the other day because it was the same guy's birthday. I know all of the band members names, all of their songs, how they go, and I haven't even listened to them. Just because all of the chicks constantly go on about them non stop. It's fucking crazy. There was a concert in my town a few weeks back, I unfortunately had to come out of the cinema just as the concert ended (the two buildings are directly opposite) I had to walk with my friend in what seemed as an endless stream of screaming girls coming out of the concert crying their eyes out shouting "OH MY GOD, HARRY STYLES LOOKED AT ME AND SMILED!" And so forth. Some of them spent £20 AND OVER on phone cases with the gays guys faces on them, so don't you DARE say that they are a minor band, they are fucking huge, and it is a serious problem. (Pic related, it's one of the chick's phone cases, seriously, look at that guys face and tell me he's not gay.)

I agree completely. It seems most 11-12 year olds always complain about their generation, when in reality, I bet 50's kids complained about the 60's, 60's kids complained about the 70's, etc. etc.

I'm from Wales, we don't give a shit about them, the only time they are mentioned are on english TV programmes. No one else really cares about them.

I live in america and sadly the infestation has spread here.. in North Carolina about 75% of the girls in my school are FREAKING out about their amerifat tour. And they know all of their birthdays, ages, and girlfriends (if they have them) names. It's actually disturbing. :(

from where i am, i get the exact same. all down my news feed is "one direction" or tumblr, among other pieces of shit. but posting on the internet about your rage isn't gonna fuel someone to stop them making music, it does pretty much nothing besides getting people to see them, who have never heard of them.

Abbey Road, however, the album one direction is imitating, is one of the Beatles' most popular later-collection albums, filled with non-girl-crazy-love stuff. Its songs include one about an octopus, one about a serial killer, one about lust, and one about being agreeable.

Here comes the sun, I'll let you have as being a bit girl-attractive, but overall, Abbey Road is not that type of album.
