If you are trying to defend religion you are utterly delusional. I have no problem with people choosing to believe in stone age principles, but when they try to enforce their stone age principles on the modern world, I have a problem with it. Banning condoms in Aids infested parts of Africa because procreation is "sacred," and banning evolution being taught and trying to destroy the scientific foundation which has allowed any of us to even post on this website is absolutely indefensible. There are two ways forward for humanity:
The first way forward is to embrace the scientific revolution and realize that science is ultimately mankind's salvation. Scientific ingenuity will eventually lead to cures, longer lives, space/interstellar travel, and the survival of our species. It's only a matter of time before the next comet/asteroid hits Earth, and if Science is not allowed to progress forward, life as we know it will be reduced to insects and rodents.
The second way "forward" is to revert back to fairy tales and unproven faith in something that does not exist. Humanity then disavows progress and intellectualism, and falls back into a feudal state, where we then wait for a fatal blow to be delivered from the cosmos to end our existence as a species and world.
Religion should be questioned and mocked at every possible point, because it solves nothing, helps nothing, and cures nothing. Praying does not send space probes to the outer reaches of our solar system, and does not cure disease. Religion itself is a disease of the mind, infecting the ignorant and the stupid. Wake up, and start arguing, because if the evangelical nuts get their way, we are doomed.
