Unless it's Twilight. They're both about the same.

I know I'm gonna get red pinkies for this but the books actually weren't that bad. The movies sucked shit because the actors sucked and the director was a dumb ass but the books were actually well written. The story line wasn't really that amazing though. I'm not much for romances.

I know the books aren't brilliant, but they're not completely dire- they make you want to read on. However, they're still pretty bad.

Yeah I mean the story line isn't the greatest. I like her style of writing though. I think if she wrote different genres of books they might be successful.

She's needlessly descriptive and uses way too many metaphors.

i think the worst example of a movie veering from a book would have to be either lawnmower man or Forrest Gump.

I actually think that Forrest Gump is great movie, it's kinda different than the book, but it's still pretty good

i loved both the movie and the book, im not saying it was bad, it was just blatantly different than the text. of course, it would've been hard to put most of the stuff on the movie for both time and budget reasons.

yes, but different doesn't always mean bad :) oh and 'clockwork orange ' is also good both as a movie and a book, book's better tho, as always

Count of monte cristo, northern lights (golden compass), eragon, i am number four; just to name a few disappointments.the only good the movies did was get me to read the above mentioned books.

i agree excepts for count of monte cristo it depends on the version you watch but there has been a few based on that book
bit like the three musketeers, or the man in the iron mask
hollywood loves Dumas

I've only seen the 2002 version with Jim Caviezel, The ending in the extended version of the book ( dont know how much the shorter version differs) was better imo since it felt more realistic, unlike the movie which felt abit to disneyesh.

Well, DUUUUH! You take a book that would normaly take a week or two to read and compres it into a two hour movie. Of course it's going to be worse.
