It's not nothing. See stars die, and some turn into black holes which suck up all around it sometimes leaving particles. When the entire universe dies out all that's left is particles and all these particles come together until they can't no more and BOOM. Big bang. Universe starts all over again.
Also atheism means they don't believe in god. Not in the big bang. An atheist can believe a giant vagina made the universe.
