we had more freedom and more REALLY meaningful opinions were heard without internet.
besides its benefits, Internet mainly acts as a huge forum for idiots. And idiots in large groups sometimes become dangerous.
I am not sure if we would really suffer without internet. Yea, companeis would, since they couldn't jam ads 24/7 down our throats, but people.. hell.. most praised period - 80's, 90's - basically there was no internet besides e-mail. And people were happy.
Also SOPA has little to do witht the internet functions you use every day.

Obama has already said he will not let the bill pass and the senate doesnt have the support to reach the 66% they need to overturn his veto. and i was watching some of the GOP prelims this evening and all 4 of the remaining candidates say they oppose the bill the way it is written right now.
