The idea is that Do you even lift? will see this and get that we all support the shutdown. i know for a lot of you, thumbing up is against your better judgement, but this is important stuff regarding a bill that will end the internet as we know it. the bills, if passed, are at a huge risk of being abused. The Obama Do you even lift?istration sadi they'd veto them, but we all know by now that Obama is all talk. And yeah, Sopa has been shelved FOR NOW, but theres a lot of talk that Congress will bring it back when all the hype dies down. and the often ignored PIPA is still around and being debated.

Seriously people, our black admin's refusal to shut down FJ isn't going to affect this SOPA shit at all. It won't help kill it, it won't help pass it. You're just acting like a riled up mob of idiots who have no idea what the fuck is really going on.
You guys seem to think the shutdowns are a protest. They're not. They were part of an awareness program. Whether or not people want to take part in that is their choice. If FJ is aware enough of SOPA and PIPA to be in a total shitstorm about it, do you really think we need to take part in that? The shitstorm is contributing more for the awareness than shutting the site down ever possibly could.
If you really want to stop these bills, then contact your local congressman and sign all the petitions you can. Shutting down a site to protest these bills is like closing down a liquor store to protest a bill that reintroduces Prohibition.
