Religion (notice description)
Religion at its finest.

EDIT : First of all, thanks for the support. Second of all, damn, I got a lot of hate for this, lol.
Look, I'm not trying to make religion look evil, I'm just pointing out the fact that it's often used in an evil way.
Everything that religious people did that was good - was good. Judging is always a bad thing.
Credit to some guy from Reddit who made it. Sorry I stole it, but I'm sure you don't mind me spreading the message.
I mean, this isn't a rage comic, this is a meaningful picture, so.. yes, I hope you understand.

Belief in an afterlife is a set way to justify violence and death in reality, and any person can believe their doing the right thing when they think a god is on their side. How can theists categorise good and evil so clearly if its religion that blurs the lines in the first place? All arguments aside, any person that believes an ancient dogma deity wants them to kill everyone who doesn't share their ideas is a fucking moron.... :/

Im a christian. i dont hate homesexuals, athiests, satanists, and i dont want to kill anyone. stop blaming the religion and just agree that these people are nut jobs. besides what about the killers that are atheists? does that make all athiests bad? you can kill or say anything in the name of anything or one. it doesnt mean that its corrupt.

how ever im the christian and im not telling you what you should or shouldnt believe in, you the athiest are being a dick and telling me i shouldnt believe in something. sound familiar? oh yeah, you say those stupid religions tell gays that they cant love, that your going to hell if you dont believe in their god, and many more cruel things so the religion doesnt make the person. stop trying to out smart me because i know my facts and im willing to back them up.
From what I've seen in the comments. No one has anything against Christianity, they hate Christians. That's a person's fault. People are what's wrong, not religion. You say religion caused something horribly evil? Its the people who use it for their own preferences that made you think that. Christianity teaches everything that you say is right.

i am atheist most of my friends and family are Christan. i don't dislike at all for it or anyone that is. but i do have a problem when people uses there faith to take other peoples rights away. religion is dangerous because it has no safety net. by that people take thing on faith with out thinking if it right or not. there are good people and bad people in the world and religion has no effect on there morals but the only way to get a good person to do evil things is religion. if your a laid back Christian and don't step on peoples rights and don't hate because someone has a different belief. then your on my side of making this world a better place but if you hate gays and other religions then do humanity a favor and jump off a bridge.
Respect other's religions and mind your own fucking business. The christians of today are against abortion, but threatening to kill people? I'm pretty sure that murder is against the christian religion. Your all fucking retarded.
The only god I believe in is the giant flying spaghetti monster

I wish i could cock slap everyone who says," your religion is not the same as mine... I hate you." Makes me feel like they are in a guy-love with god, jesus, watever.
no it's religion. when you just believe in what ever with out question is when is easy to good people to do horrible things and still think there doing good. its true that hateful people is what starts it but religion is how they get masses of people to follow them. get rid of religion and think for yourself.

You know, I'm not one to typically boast about his Christianity, and I'm by far not the most religious of people. But reading this is kind of applauding. Seeing that all religions have 'extremists' that make the particular religion look like a bunch of 'Mass-murdering Nazi Sith from Hell'. And I'm not gonna sit here and rant about "You're a blasphemy spreading fool and should be dragged back to from witch you came" because I'm just not that type of person, how ever I will be more than happy to highlight the good things that religion has done to this modern day society and how it has shaped our nation and will forever be an outstanding force of both good and evil. Mother Teresa, MLK jr., Martin Luther (1400's), Jesus Christ, and many more. Although religion has not been a main influence unto the great leaders around the world it has had a large amount of influence (e.x. "One Nation Under God" you remember that? The 'Pledge of Allegiance'). If it wasn't for the belief in a purpose larger than your own, for the belief that you wont have life after death, that you'll just rot and the time you spend on this Earth is just wasted space, and that you Can't make a difference, this planet would be One-Shitty-Place. Even if you do not believe in religion you must not be ignorant to both the influence and the 'Just' purpose of it; for it is not only a direct attack on your own intelligence, but also a direct attack on stand for. But then again, I probably have Absolutely no idea what I'm talking about... | (^__^) | Have a nice day.

You are aware that the "under God" part of the pledge of allegience is rather new, right? Just another example of cowardly people worshipping an imaginary being and forcing their beliefs on the culture and even law of those in their vicinity.
People are allowed to believe whatever they want, but that does not make it any less stupid. Religion does not "deserve" respect just for being religion, if anything deserves mine or someone elses respect it already has it. Of course there have been good people who have been religious, perhaps even a few inspired primarily by religion, but that does not make the idea any less irrational and, at its heart, rather childish.
Childish, immature and arrogant. To believe oneself so fucking important in a grand universe that most probably does not give a shit about us. When we die we are (probably) just going to stop existing. And that is a terrible, terrifying thought (for me, personally, at least), but not an excuse to delude oneself into believing in fairies or ghosts. So why the Judeo-Christian God, or any other?
As I said, feel free. But it. Is. Stupid.

As an addendum, this life has the potential to be fucking awesome. Please, please, PLEASE do not waste it to conform to the wishes of some imaginary being to achieve a "better" life, because you most probably won't get another one. Rather, work for positive change in this world, and live to the fullest. Your life is too precious to do anything else.
Your religion is your own, whether it be atheism (Yes atheism is in fact considered a religion), Christianity, or what ever the hell you want it to be. I think that having the belief that if you do good deeds in this life in order to achieve great rewards in a second, more beautiful life is not only extremely thought provoking but also a good idea to have going around. If people were to go around with the attitude 'What ever happens here doesn't mean anything because we are just going to be lost in time once we die' is not only a dangerous belief, but also an ignorant one. To say a religion like Christianity, for example, is false is calling most of the people in history wrong, foolish, gullible. And with all of the inconclusive evidence that figures such as 'Jesus Christ' and events such as 'The spreading of the Red Sea' and 'The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah' it is surely ignorant to just say "...that's not true..." or "...that never happen...".
