This would not work. The reaction Mentos and Diet Coke has is not chemical it is physical. The rough surface of the candy attracts carbon dioxide bubbles to form on the surface of the candy at an incredible rate. This creation of bubbles is what causes the eruption. If you were to put the mentos in water and freeze them then the surface would be ruined and would not cause the physical reaction because there would be no where for the bubbles to form.

What would happen if you froze Roofies in ice and served it to a hot lady friend?

This doesn't work.

You see, nobody actually DRINKS Diet Coke.

Tried it with my fat friend. He drank it before the ice melted, and then ate the ice. Now his breath is minty and i'm disappointed.

the drink would not be anywhere near carbonated enough to evoke a significant reaction by the time the ice cube had melted

Doesn't work. It's not the mentos itself that causes the reaction, but the mento falling in the pop that makes it "explode".

It is the porous surface of the mentos, it causes the bubbles to rapidly form

The mentos cause the coke to fizz up because of little grooves on their surface. To have mentos in ice cubes, you would have to put the mentos in water first, and the water would dissolve the mentos a bit, getting rid of the grooves.

I dont know about anyone else here, but Ive been seeing a lot of comments about the chemical and physical properties of mentos and how it would be ruined by putting it in the ice.

Forget that and know that unless the person drinks by 1mL per hour, the drink would be gone before the ice melts anyways.

The mentos would just dissolve in the water before they froze...
