Nobody wins the argument. Nobody knows what happens after death except the dead and it's pointless to argue about it. And saying that I don't believe in logic is ridiculous so you didn't win anything.

We were arguing about religion, not spirituality. Religion is illogical but making fun of it is.

You'd be sensitive too if everywhere you went, you were insulted by people who believe themselves superior to you simply because of what you choose to believe in.

He's not insulting you- he's just critisizing your beliefs. You would critisize a belief that the world was flat, correct? It's the same idea. Pointing out a lack of logic is okay. We're all bros in the end.

I don't follow the Bible at all... Doesn't mean I'm not a Christian. I believe there is a God and I believe that a man named Yeshua of Nazareth, later translated as Jesus Christ (Jesus being Greek for Joshua and Christ meaning "savior"), traveled around preaching love and tolerance. Do I think he was the son of God? I don't know. All I know is that he had good ideas and those are what I follow. As far as I'm concerned the Bible is just a book.

Then you aren't a Christian.
Definition of Christian: A person who has received Christian baptism or is a believer in Jesus Christ and his teachings.
Following along with what you're saying, you aren't following his teachings, and therefore are either wanting to go to hell, or you just aren't a Christian.
Jews believe there is a God, Jews also believe there was a person called Jesus Christ who traveled around preaching love and tolerance. Since you don't read the bible, you could also be considered a Jew when going with what you're saying.
Many people in fact believe in Jesus, religious or not, and that he traveled and preached. And the religious ones also believe in a God, you are therefore not a Christian, or one that wishes to completely go against all teachings of Christianity by not following the bible, and you're just seeking to go to hell.

I can't believe the way you tell someone that they are 'seeking to go to hell.' You sound like a cruel person for wanting such a cruel fate to occur to another human being. This is the main problem I have with Christianity. It's disgusting and awful to think anyone with different beliefs than yours deserve to go to hell. How do you justify this to yourself? Honestly, I'm curious, because I have never understood seemingly good people wanting others to go to hell. Seems like the mark of a barbarian to me...

Hmm, you seem to be ignorant when reading.
I'm an atheist fool.
I said that HE IS SEEKING TO GO TO HELL SINCE HIS RELIGION TEACHES HIM THAT HE WILL DUE TO THE FACT HE ISN'T FOLLOWING HIS OWN RELIGIONS GUIDELINES.
He is doing the exact opposite of what his religion is telling him to do.
Learn to read what people say before you spout out crazy comments.

He's seeking to go to hell? That's a very rude thing to say bro. If doesn't believe he is, then he obviously isn't. Neither you or I have a right to tell him where the **** he is seeking to go. For real.

Uhh, I used logic.
He wasn't following the basic guidelines of Christianity.
If he isn't following them, what is there for me to guess?
He believes in it, so he should KNOW that he would go to hell, since he of course isn't following the basics of what Christianity teaches.
Rude or not, it's logic, and the truth.
You just have to learn to deal with it.

Dude... if you're an atheist, you should be able to appreciate the objectivity of religion. It's a personal thing, and no one can tell you you're doing it wrong. He believes that he is going to heaven because he is a good person and he does pray and read the bible. He doesn't believe he will go to hell- so you have no right to tell him that he is seeking to. According to your logic, Jews who don't follow kosher want to go to hell. Or muslim women who don't wear the hijjab. Nobody seeks to go to hell- they do what they believe is right for them.

There is a difference between following one guideline, and the entire book of guidelines.
And yes, I do have a right to declare flaws that I see in his comments.
It's known as Freedom of Speech. And I used it to confront him on the fallacies of what he said. I never said that he was seeking to, I said that he isn't following the guidelines of Christianity, and is therefore either trying to seek hell, or otherwise not the traditional definition of a Christian.
He already chose the second option.
Look, you're first comment to me was already completely flawed in the sense you were wrong on your aspect. Your continuous replies obviously are being ignorant to what I had posted, and you're on the losing side of logic here. You can take what I said as an insult to him, but like you said, you apparently have no right to say that it was.

Oh yes, my first comment wasn't fitting appropriately. I misunderstood that you were an atheist. However, my current argument still stands. Yeah, you have a legal right to say whatever the **** you want, and so do I- that's not what I'm getting at. I'm saying it makes no logical sense to criticize how a person follows their own religion. It's rude and mindless. They can follow it however the **** they want. Live and let live. Geez.

Yes, they can, I NEVER stated they couldn't.
Where did I state that "religious people are all retards that shouldn't follow their religion"?
I never criticized him, I confronted him on what he said and wanted him to explain the fallacies. Isn't that what Christians are suppose to do anyway? Be helpful and explain their religion and ideas to everyone as to help them understand? Thus allowing more people to go to heaven or what not?

I disagree though. No, I don't follow the Bible and I'm unsure of whether or not Jesus was the son of God. He could be, I don't know. Yes Jews acknowledge that Jesus existed, but they don't FOLLOW his teachings, and instead focus on the Torah/Old Testament. And no, I would not be considered a Jew because I don't follow their practices at all. I am a Christian because I follow Christ's teachings. I may not fit the conventional definition, but I consider myself a Christian.

Oh yeah, and the biggy is, Jesus Christ preached that HE WAS GOD. He also claimed he was the son of God. So, he was God, and at the same time his son, pretty much.
Which, you seem to not know, due to the "Do I think he was the son of God? I don't know."
That you said.
Therefore, you also aren't following his teachings in that style either.

*Sigh* The people who wrote the Bible said he proclaimed to be the Son, not Jesus himself. In fact, early Christians didn't actually believe he was divine, and instead focused on his ideals of peace and love.

So, apparently, according to what you are saying of this all.
Christ's teachings were more of a philosophy to you then a religion?
Because anyone can follow someone else's teachings of peace and love.
If the early Christians focused on his ideals of peace and love, Christianity would no longer be a religion, it would be a philosophy.

You, are much, much to ignorant. I never told him how to follow his religion. I was confronting him and asking him why he does what he does. I never told him to change his beliefs.
This place is just like Ancient Athens, when philosophers such as Socrates were executed due to challenging people in their beliefs.
This is what's wrong with people, they just can't tell the difference between insulting, judging, and confronting.

You do know that Jesus Christ was a Jew right?
Also, Jesus Christ's teachings were to read the bible, follow it, be a good person, pray, and go to heaven.
So, no, you don't follow his teachings.

Yes we all know that Jesus was born a Jew. However, his teachings went against many of the core beliefs that Judaism had and he therefore separated himself from Judaism, if only slightly. Where does it say that his teachings included reading the Bible? In the Bible... Which, by the way was heavily edited at the Council of Trent and put together by men. Jesus himself didn't write the Bible. A bunch of people many years after his death did. And last time I checked, I am a good person, I do pray, and I know if there's a Heaven, I'll go there.

Well then, now that we have gotten this far, which was my main goal here, your very first comment therefore has no value.
"See yet another post pissing on my religion and assuming I'm ignorant as well as assuming that all people who believe in God blindly follow everything in the Bible. "
It is not your specific area of your religion, no where does it say that all Christians blindly follow the bible, it was your own assumption.
If you felt that it was an insult to Christianity using the bible, well, you don't follow the bible, so it doesn't piss on your religion at all, it pisses on a completely specific branch and area of your religion, that in no way would involve you, as you yourself even insulted the Christians who do follow the bible as "blindly" doing so.

A.) I didn't directly insult people who follow the Bible. There is a difference between following something and doing so blindly.
B.) Although it pisses on a branch of my religion, it is still part of my religion. Even if it wasn't my religion, I have a right to defend it.
