The US version is not very different from the Swedish, but the Swedish version touches on things that the US version didn't. The ending, however, is much better in the US version. I love David Fincher, but biases aside, they're both very well done. The US version, I'd say, is better put together. I can't really compare the two evenly because they are so similar, but because the US version came out later and had the Swedish version to jump up on, it has the advantage.

I was afraid they'd make Lisbeth too pretty, and not at all how she was in the book. Same with Mikeal.
But you put a well together argument, so I watched the preview.
They had a cool remix of Immigrant Song, and it didn't look to bad.
I was just so afraid it would be too Hollywood, and not follow any story right.
I will definitely have to see it.

David Fincher is anything but Hollywood or mainstream. He did The Social Network and Fight Club. They put the remake in good hands. Lisbeth is not "gorgeous" in this, but they go to great lengths to show every part of her naked body. They at least kept her in character.

i wouldn't know. i haven't read any of the books nor have i seen any of the Swedish movies. but i thought it was really good. despite the rape scenes. but yeah i find her sorda hot too. no one else sees it....
