What're your thoughts on bass difficulty wise, is it an easy instrument to pick up? I live in a town where there's about 234982374 guitarists and like 5 bassists and figured if I played a bass there'd be a better chance of finding a decent band.

I'm a senior now and have done it since 7th grade, it's kind of harder because you know the strings are separated more but you'd think it's simpler because of the separation but acclimating your fingers to the separation takes sometime... Then without using a pick, it's kinda tough to strum fast unless you do the 3 finger strum(index,ring,middle) but that takes a lot of practice... Um, with a pick, I can barely do. But, ultimately, I think it's a TAD bit more challenging because of the string separation and thickness of strings. It really changes the feel of comfort.

Well thanks for the bit of a heads up, I'll take that into account if I ever actually do start learning bass. And well I have exceptionally long fingers and have always wanted to play bass just to try something new, who knows maybe I'll actually be good at it one day hahaha
