I wouldn't say that takes anything away from it, does it? I mean, vampires, werewolves, all that supernatural goodness were created from nothing; they aren't real either. Slenderman may have been created just now, but he's just as much of a scary figure as the others. His backstory and overall mechanics are perfectly creepy, and I think it's great that we have a monster that our generation created. It makes me a little proud, myself.
Yeah. I hate to say it wasn't just twilight, a lot of other shows and movies picked up the male model fake romance vampire too. But I do agree, Slenderman makes it pretty fair, I mean vampires are always interesting and cool, but I've never had one be SCARY. It's really just a complex medical condition. Slenderman is horrific in his teasy manner, the whole thing with woods, the spikey tentacles. It's genius, whoever created him.
The only vampires I've had a sense of dread from were the vampires in guillermo del toro's The strain and the fall and Alucard from the hellsing anime series.
This slenderman character though, he's still new and interesting, so i really want to know more about his background and M.O.

That's another thing that makes him so scary, is everyone knows the story of a vampire, no matter which version, but slenderman is just ancient and mysterious. If they really are making a movie about him, I'll be excited to see what creative things they come up with.
Most likely. It would be nice to just go about it in a Stephen King fashion, where you never even GET an explanation. The only thing that bugs me is that for any interesting stories or something that wouldn't be retarded like marble hornets or blair witch project, you'd need a way to kill him. With the amount of monsters out there, how could we possibly kill him in a unique way? I would trust anyone less than the writers of Supernatural to officially create one.
