A lab partner of mine tried to wipe spilled HCl onto the floor with his hand. He thought since it wasn't burning the table it must be ok.

Oh I've had fun in Chemistry. We were once doing some experiment with copper sulphate (I think it's that anyway; the blue liquid?) and we had to shake it with our thumb covering the c ap, my friend started laughing so I lifted my thumb and he drank the solution, he vommed. Then there was the time my friend wanted to know how hot the boiling tubes get, so he lit that bad boy up, held it on the back of my hand and without skipping a beat -and nonchalantly might I add!- he quizzed "is that hot?" It melted my ******* skin.

As a chemistry degree student, i usually go "it was nothing" even if its stuff that could kill me

We were working with some cell killing acid one day, and she warned us to be safe. I, just wanting to see what it does, Dropped a drop on my hand, but felt nothing, so I dropped several more drops in. I finally discovered it takes a bit to get through the dead skin. Entire back of the hand was burned. Feels Stupid, Man.

I'm actually the complete opposite; I'm rarely worried when I spill something in chem labs. I know what I'm working with, and I know it won't hurt me (seriously, at least). If it could, I'd be very ******* careful to make sure it didn't.

I know that feel....

Spilled some kind of acid on my right hand last year in chemistry, and some nice chemical burns to show for my stupidity.
