Go on the street and ask people which films they've seen (and in the sake of fairness, let's limit the Star Wars films to just IV: A New Hope). 99.99% of people have seen a Star Wars film, no-one I know has even heard of Annie Hall.
The Star Wars films are iconic and among the greatest films to never win an oscar.
I'd much rather my legacy be involved with the Star Wars franchise than any Oscar winning performance (including the prequel trilogy, I love those too, even if they are not as good as the original trilogy).
