When else would you play it? Not many nintendo games are fun single player...

They're also the easiest to pick up and play. Mario Kart pretty much needs like 3 buttons, so it's not very difficult to learn as opposed to all the buttons required for newer generation games.

Ocarina of TIme, Super Mario 64, Starfox 64, Rayman 2, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Goldeneye, and uhhm...uhhmm...yeah, the rest are party games :L

Starfox, Goldeneye and Tony Hawk can be party games too, can't they? That's my point, there aren't many games that are fun single-player. Pretty much the only exceptions are Super Mario 64 and the LoZ games. And SM64 got really boring because it was repetitive (at least for me. Every level was 'dodge enemies, get star'.)...
