Alright guys... Place your bets here... Who's getting the nomination. I'm being realistic and saying Gingrich here.

I think perry. Maybe (probably) it's just because I'm from Texas, but it seems like everyone loves him, and sadly not for any political reasons, but for **** like putting the most people to death and shooting a coyote in the face with a pistol. To me he seems like the kind of president that, should the situation arise, would sacrifice the masses to secure victory. And sadly I don't think that matters to anyone.

Mfw Perry wins. I'm somewhat leaning to the right but Perry would definitely make me vote Obama back.

I'm so pissed I really want a good candidate against Obama. I really want Obama gone.

Meh. Not too long ago it would have been Cain. And before that, Perry. Romney's the only one whose poll numbers have been consistently high throughout.

Yeah I was thinking about him for awhile but because of him being a Mormon my polysci prof thinks the Bible Belt won't go for it. They probably won't vote at all! Between a black and a Mormon, they want neither.

I don't think racism is nearly as significant an influence as it might seem. The Right doesn't hate Obama because he's black, they hate him because he's a Democrat and a liberal.

The Mormon thing might be more significant than the black thing, but I think Romney's inconsistency is far more disadvantageous to him. The people who would value religion over competency are relatively rare.

honestly if Romney wins, i'm voting for Obama. I "know" where Obama stands but with Romney's flip flopping...

A respectable sentiment I've heard expressed by some conservatives.

Personally I'm not afraid of Romney. I wouldn't be thrilled about voting for him, but I wouldn't consider moving to Canada if he got elected, lol. He may be a flip-flopping politician, but he has some experience and lacks the extremist streak some of the other Republicans have shown.

Extremist is a loaded term. "Conservatism" (another loaded term) so i'll use liberatarianism today would be completely normal in the United States when it was founded. The founding fathers would be absolutely pissed if they came back to life.I just don't consider Romney to be a real republican, and he fits the stereotypical politician schema ridiculously perfectly so he'll win, but still

Well I think Gingrich has a shot because of Cain. Because of Cain's sexual allegations, I'm sure people will think it's old news to hear about that Gingrich's story.

I don't think Gingrich's infidelity was a huge deal to begin with. The only people I heard criticizing him for that were Democrats who wouldn't vote for him anyway. But you do have a point - Cain's failure may catalyze Gingrich's rise.

I like talking about politics. It's quite fun. Thank you sir! If I remember to come back after the nomination is handed out and lol over this, I will.
