I think perry. Maybe (probably) it's just because I'm from Texas, but it seems like everyone loves him, and sadly not for any political reasons, but for shit like putting the most people to death and shooting a coyote in the face with a pistol. To me he seems like the kind of president that, should the situation arise, would sacrifice the masses to secure victory. And sadly I don't think that matters to anyone.
I don't think racism is nearly as significant an influence as it might seem. The Right doesn't hate Obama because he's black, they hate him because he's a Democrat and a liberal.
The Mormon thing might be more significant than the black thing, but I think Romney's inconsistency is far more disadvantageous to him. The people who would value religion over competency are relatively rare.

A respectable sentiment I've heard expressed by some conservatives.
Personally I'm not afraid of Romney. I wouldn't be thrilled about voting for him, but I wouldn't consider moving to Canada if he got elected, lol. He may be a flip-flopping politician, but he has some experience and lacks the extremist streak some of the other Republicans have shown.

Extremist is a loaded term. "Conservatism" (another loaded term) so i'll use liberatarianism today would be completely normal in the United States when it was founded. The founding fathers would be absolutely pissed if they came back to life.I just don't consider Romney to be a real republican, and he fits the stereotypical politician schema ridiculously perfectly so he'll win, but still
