I really don't know where the love comes into ignoring, abandoning, severly bruising, threatening and inpregnating one's lover with a child that breaks her ribs, pelvis and spine, then tearing her open and then turning her into a being that it cursed to live for all eternity, not sleeping, or aging.

(she grows up too quickly. That's just about the only bit of vampire lore that Meyers got right- Dhampirs age quickly. Though she did try to add science to it and that was total bollocks.)
