Alright, this is why this wouldn't work.
You mention "get supplies" like it's no big thing.
Problem: the nearest local gun dispenser is also the nearest local gun dispenser to a lot of other people. Once people hear that there's an enemy so great that the UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES (which is fucking powerful as shit) couldn't stop it, that's going to be the first place everyone goes.
Now, what happens when you have a superhuman enemy who triumphed over giant missiles and trained killers see a mob of scared, out-of-shape cattle (we're on the level of cattle to them if they got through the SEALs) in one place?
Exactly.
Basically, if this happens, you have no chance of survival.
You can't even run for it, as you'll run out of gas, the highways will be clogged, and your enemies will be dropping bodies faster than Tupac, Biggie, Snoop Dogg, and The Game combined.
