What if one of us has actually discovered time travel in the future and sent the whole universe back in time without realizing that when they got back the conditions of that time would remain the same and therefore leaving that person unaware that they just time traveled and all the events leading up to the time travel repeat themselves into infinity?

I'll try to be more specific. What if you discover time travel in the future and you go back to, say, third grade. Well once you arrive you are now just your third grade self and completely unaware of what had just transpired and the events leading up to it. You're now just a kid derping in third grade and seeing as how all you did was "rewind" time and made no changes, then the events that lead up to the time travel repeat themselves. Therefore, looping into infinity and you're taking the universe with you.

what happened to the third grade self that existed when you went back???

This explanation is based on the notion that time travel is just more or less "rewinding" time.
